Phases
The Moon Phases 2013 Moon phases, or lunations, represent a focus on your life for that period, depending on how they aspect your natal chart. Solar eclipses last six months, lunar eclipses about 3 months, new moon’s one month, and full moon’s two weeks.

Lunar Nodes by Celeste Teal
"The nodes regress slowly, about 19 degrees per year, spending about a year and a half in each zodiac sign."
"...their retrograde motion suggests that happenings in the present have roots in the past."

Dane Rudhyar's Eclipse
George credits Rudhyar:
"At the new moon solar eclipse, the present is blotted out by the past, while at the full moon lunar eclipse, it is the past which is obscured and can be released."
George says to note where in your chart the eclipses fall (they fall within 2 weeks of each other) to see where you are currently being tested in your life.

South Node
In the same book, George reflects on South Node as the area of our chart where we can be viewed as a role model and teacher. "We can use our South Node skills to enhance our lives and make a contribution to others and to society...thus, the sign and house are not to be avoided, but utilized."
Lilith: Maiden Mother Crone
Demetra George's Finding Our Way Through the Dark Goddess interprets possibility for understanding many Liliths
Maiden=asteroid 1181 Lilith as ravished virgin
Mother=Dark or Ghost moon possible dust particles as pain of exile
Crone=Black Moon or energy vortex defining moon's orbit and where she transmutes her distorted image back into healthy interpretation

John Townley's Astrological Life Cycles
The real starting point of your year, professionally, is when the sun is near your ascendant.
You have the most energy around your birthday.
Six signs later, or when sun touches your descendant, not much is happening professionally so take a vacation.
Six months from your birthday take another break and regenerate as your energy is at its lowest point.

House rulers vs in house planets
The house ruler describes energy that must be stimulated in order to open the door to the house it rules. An occupant planet shows energy seeking an outlet for expression in the area of life described by the house it occupies.

Discerning inconjunct, quincunx, semisextile relationship
http://tribes.tribe.net/astrologer/thread/958c8240-e7a6-46af-bc25-5f1f0c0b9df4
Distinguishing between these reminds me of philosophical application of "synthesis" and cycle through aspects that might be at play.
If a conjunction is thesis and an opposition antithesis, then 90 degrees is the squaring off of any two concepts or theories. Moving from aspect to aspect, there is a harmonizing or synthesizing process at work between two dichotomies.
Because synthesis requires balance, the opportunity for a positive opposition experience is possible if conflicting ideas can each be given their due. (I always think of my philosophy professor who said philosophers tend to agree to disagree.)
The inconjunct aspects, both quincunx and semisextile (see link), are a stage of the process immediately preceeding resolution of conflicting energies whether through balance or synthesis.
This stage is recognizable by a kind of panic brought on as an effect of change. We all experience a love/hate relationship with change, and it is this very ambivalence that defines the aspect.
How do we create a positive experience from ambivalence? Embrace the change. (Think of the Hanged Man and his opportunity to see the world from a completely new perspective.)
My experience has been that if we don't embrace the change, we will be forced (Tower) to abandon ship and shipwrecked we will have to begin the cycle all over again.
